- Customers can switch between eSIM and physical SIM, limited to one activated eSIM per device.
Bringing your own phone and number
- A phone brought to Mint Mobile must be compatible and unlocked.
- Compatibility can be checked by brand and model or by the phone's IMEI, found by dialing *#06#.
- When porting a number to Mint Mobile, the customer is responsible for making sure the information sent from the porting carrier is accurate.
Network management: speeds, hotspot and video
- Mint Mobile customers who use more than 50GB in a monthly cycle have their data prioritized below other customers' data when the network is congested.
- Other brands may be prioritized higher than Mint Mobile on the T-Mobile network.
- Video optimization on the cellular network delivers SD quality, typically 480p up to 1.5 Mbps, instead of HD or 4K.
- Hotspot (tethering) use counts toward the Unlimited heavy-data threshold.
- On the 6GB, 17GB and 23GB plans, after the high-speed allotment data may be slowed to 2G speeds (128 Kbps on most plans) or suspended for the rest of the period.
- Mint Mobile's broadband labels list typical download speeds of 79-357 Mbps, upload 6-30 Mbps and latency 17-32 ms.

The network practices and terms on Mint Mobile's broadband service apply over T-Mobile's domestic 4G LTE and 5G networks. T-Mobile announced on May 1, 2024 that it completed its acquisition of Ka'ena Corporation, which includes Mint Mobile. Other brands may be prioritized higher than Mint Mobile on the T-Mobile network.
Is the $15 a month Mint Mobile price the real price?
The New Customer Offer is a 3-month plan paid upfront; the Unlimited offer requires $90 upfront (equivalent to $30/month), is for the first 3 months only, and taxes and fees are extra. Broadband label, 3-month 6GB: $15.00/month is an introductory rate for 3 months; the regular monthly price is $25.00. Broadband label, 12-month 6GB: $15.00/month, not an introductory rate. The 12-month 6GB plan at $15/month requires $180 upfront. Plans are measured on 30-day monthly cycles; 12-month plans may use 30- and/or 31-day cycles for a maximum of 365 days. Mint Mobile offers Auto Renew, which charges the payment method at the end of the payment cycle until cancelled.
