Editorial Policy

Accuracy first

Every factual claim in our guides, including codes, number lengths, dates and regulatory rules, must be supported by a reliable source. We prefer primary sources: the ITU, NANPA, the FCC, national telecom regulators and official government websites. Each article lists its sources at the end.

We do not publish invented statistics, prices or rankings. When costs depend on a carrier or plan, we say so rather than quoting a figure that may be out of date.

How articles are produced

Our editors choose topics based on the questions readers actually ask. We use software tools, including AI writing assistants, for research and first drafts. No article is published without human review. An editor checks every fact against its source, rewrites the text for clarity, and approves the final version.

Corrections

If we get something wrong, we fix it. Substantive corrections are reflected in the "Updated" date on the article. Report errors through our contact page.

Independence

Our reference pages, including country codes, area codes and calling guides, are never paid placements. Advertisers have no say over what we write in editorial content.

Sponsored content

We accept a limited number of sponsored articles that are genuinely useful to our readers. They follow these rules:

• They are labeled "Sponsored" in the article list and carry a disclosure at the top of the article, as required by the US Federal Trade Commission's Endorsement Guides.
• Every link to the sponsor or paid for by the sponsor uses the rel="sponsored" attribute, in line with Google's guidelines on paid links.
• They must meet the same accuracy standards as our own articles. We edit or reject content that is misleading, low quality, or unrelated to our subject area.
• We do not accept sponsored content about gambling, adult content, weapons, cryptocurrency schemes, payday loans, or unlicensed health products.

Guest contributions

Guest articles are welcome under our Write for us guidelines and are edited to the same standards.
