Reading a +960 number

• •Mobile if the digits after +960 start with 46, 7 or 91–99 (+960 77X-XXXX).
• •Landlines start with an area code, for example +960 670-XXXX for Vaavu.
• •Local time: 1:15 AM in Male right now, an unusual hour for a genuine call.

• •Don't call back a number you don't recognize. One-ring scams hang up after a ring or two so you return the call, which can add a per-minute charge on top of an international rate.
• •Caller ID can be faked. The code shown is not proof of where the caller really is.
• •Real callers leave a message. If it matters, they'll text, email or leave a voicemail. Otherwise, block the number.
