Reading a +972 number

•Mobile if the digits after +972 start with 50–56 or 58–59 (+972 50-XXX-XXXX).
•Landlines start with an area code, for example +972 2-XXX-XXXX for Jerusalem.
•Premium rate if it starts with 19 after +972: never call these back.
•Local time: 1:37 PM in Jerusalem right now.

•Don't call back a number you don't recognize. One-ring scams hang up after a ring or two so you return the call, which can add a per-minute charge on top of an international rate.
•Caller ID can be faked. The code shown is not proof of where the caller really is.
•Real callers leave a message. If it matters, they'll text, email or leave a voicemail. Otherwise, block the number.
